The SSMG group at the Department of Organic and Industrial Chemistry has a long experience in the field of self-assembly and self-organization of functional materials. The current research topics of the SSMG group are:
- self-assembly of nanosize 3D architectures on surfaces;
- supramolecular sensors;
- supramolecular host-guest polymers;
- artificial olfactory systems.
New projects in the making are: Supramolecular Nanoparticle Systems for Specific Multiple Labelling of Protein Surfaces (SUPRANANO); Detection of Olfactory traces by orthoGonal Gas identification technologIES (DOGGIES); SUPRAmolecular polyolefins as oxygen BARRIER materials (SUPRABARRIER); benzene specific sensors; nanoparticelle magnetiche funzionalizzate per drug delivery (FIRB RINAME).
