The SSMG group at the Department of Chemistry, Life Science and Environmental Sustainability has a long experience in the field of self-assembly and self-organization of functional materials. The current research topics of the SSMG group are:
- self-assembly of nanosize 3D architectures on surfaces;
- supramolecular sensors;
- supramolecular host-guest polymers;
- artificial olfactory systems.
Ongoing projects are: Supramolecular Systems for Specific Multiple Labelling of Protein Surfaces; SUPRAmolecular polyolefins as oxygen BARRIER materials (H2020 EID SUPRABARRIER); benzene specific sensors; Self-diagnostic polymers and composites.
